Introduction
of 2-Factor Authentication (2FA) for increased security for Maybank2u.com.sg
(Online Banking) |
| |
|
| |
As we continuously seek
to offer maximum security to our Online Banking customers, we are
pleased to inform you that we will be introducing 2-Factor Authentication
(2FA) with effect from the week of 18 September 2006.
Maybank provides enhanced security to our Online Banking customers
by using a combination of 2 different factors for verifying a user's
identity:
|
| |
- something you know
i.e. your username and password;
- something you have
i.e. your security token.
|
| |
Online
Banking customers will have a security token which is a device that
generates a One-Time Password (OTP). This acts as the second layer
of authentication when you login to Online Banking. It serves to protect
you from Online Banking fraud with an increased level of security
against phishing, trojan software and other malicious programs. You
will be receiving your security token in due course and we advise
that you activate it immediately. |
| |
|
| |
You
may wish to note that in the event the token is replaced due to damage,
loss or wear and tear over time, an administrative fee not exceeding
S$30 (excluding GST) may be levied. |
