User Guide to Maybank2u

Introduction 

Tired of fighting through traffic jams, searching for a parking space and waiting in long queues just to do your banking? Then Maybank2u is just what you need.

Just log on to www.Maybank2u.com and you are off to a new, fast, convenient and safe banking experience from the comfort of your surroundings and at your own leisure. Our non-financial services are available 24 hours.

Eligibility 

Maybank2u is open to all Internet users. Maybank2u Online Financial Services are available to those above 18 years of age who have access to the Internet.

Security

Maybank2u is a safe and secure online service. We have employed the latest Internet security technology such as encryption, password and other security measures to ensure safety and confidentiality of your transactions. For more information, please read our Security Statement. To prevent unauthorised access, you are required to key in a 8-digit Access Number and selected Maybank 2u PIN for initial logon. A selected username and password are required for subsequent access.

However, security is a 2-way effort. While we can employ the latest technology to secure the system, all this would be useless if you do not play your part. We advise you to follow the list of Dos and Don'ts below for your own safe online banking.

Do's 

1. Memorise your PIN and password.

2. Preferably access Online Banking Services in the privacy of your home. 

3. Ensure no one sees your PIN or password when you enter them to access Maybank2u. 

4. Always complete your online financial transactions and clear the cache before moving to other tasks or web sites. 

5. Contact our Hotline at 1800-MAYBANK (1800-629 2265) immediately if you suspect that your PIN or password has been compromised. 

Don'ts

1. Do not write down your PIN or password. 

2. Do not disclose them to anyone. 

3. Do not leave your transactions or account information on the screen unattended. 

4. We do not encourage you to perform your Online Financial Services at cyber cafes or any public places where privacy and security are minimal but if you do, remember to clear the cache after each session.

How to Get Started

To apply for Maybank2u Online Financial Services, we give you the flexibility of sending application form by mail or apply through any of our ATMs.

1.1

For application by mail, simply go to Maybank2u Singapore Page and click Online Application. Select Application for Maybank2u Online Financial Services.

1.2

Complete the particulars, print and send the Application Form to us at:

1.3 Your E-Access ID and Maybank2u PIN will be sent to your mailing address separately, within 5 working days.
1.4 Alternatively, if you want to apply for Maybank2u Online Financial Services at Maybank ATMs, you need to have an ATM card. At the main ATM menu, select "E-Access ID Application". You will be prompted to select and confirm your 6-digit Maybank2u PIN. Upon successful application, collect your ATM receipt, which contains your E-Access ID.
1.5 You can now access Maybank2u Online Financial Services with your PIN and E-Access ID printed on your ATM receipt.
   
2.0 Log on to Internet.
2.1  Log on to "http://www.maybank2u.com.sg".
2.2  Select " First time login".
2.3 Read the "Terms and Conditions" carefully and click on the "Accept" button at the end of the document.
2.4 The " Welcome" page will appear. However, if you do not see the welcome page, your browser needs to be upgraded. Click here for details.
2.5 At the "Access Number" field, please enter your Access ID that was issued to you upon your application.
2.6 Enter the 6 digit Maybank2u PIN.
2.7 Click "Activate".
2.8 A new login screen will appear. Select a preferred username and password. Please use this username and password for all your future access.
2.9 Congratulations!! You are now at the account summary page. 
 

ONLINE BANKING 

A. Inquiry

Account Statement

1. Select Online Banking and click on Account Statement.
2. Click on the relevant account to view the detailed account information.
3. To view only the transactions performed today, click on View Today’s Transaction (Applicable to savings and current account only).
4. To view all the account transactions performed for the past 60 days, click on View Transaction History (Applicable to savings and current account only).

B. Time Deposits

Time Deposit Placement

1. Select Time Deposits and click on Time Deposit Placement.
2. Select Time Deposit Type, then click on Next.
3. Select Tenure and key in the Principal Amount. Select From Account and the Interest Payment Mode, then click on Next.
4. The next screen will list out the details of the time deposit you wish to place and the effective interest rate. Click Confirm to submit the transaction.
5. The status of your time deposit placement will be displayed in the final acknowledgement screen. If the time deposit placement has been processed successfully, the status will be ‘Successful’ and a reference number will be provided. Any status other than ‘Successful’ means that the transaction was rejected.
6. To print the transaction for your own records, just click print.
7. Please note that your account will be debited immediately and the new time deposit account will be opened immediately. The time deposit account holder(s) will follow the debiting account and you can view it in the account summary upon your next login into Maybank2u Online Financial Services.

C. Funds Transfer

Own Accounts (Immediate and Future Transfer)


1. Select Funds Transfer and click on Own Accounts.
2. Select From Account.
3. Select To Account.
4. Key in the Amount.
5. Select Effective Date. The effective date is defaulted to 'Today', which means it is an immediate funds transfer. If you wish to make future funds transfer, select preferred effective date and click on Next. Take note that date must range between 2 to 30 days after today.
6. The next screen will list out the details of the funds transfer you wish to effect. Click Confirm to submit the transaction.
7. The status of your Funds Transfer transaction will be displayed in the final acknowledgement screen. If the immediate/future funds transfer has been processed successfully, the status will be ‘Successful’ and a reference number will be provided. Any status other than ‘Successful’ means that the transaction was rejected.
8. To print the transaction for your own records, just click print.

To Payee Accounts with Maybank in Singapore (Immediate and Future Transfer)

1. Select Funds Transfer and click on To Payee Accounts with Maybank.
2. Select From Account.
3. Select either To Favourite 3rd Party Account or To Open 3rd Party Account.
4. Key in the Amount.
5. Select Effective Date. The effective date is defaulted to ' Today', which means it is an immediate funds transfer. If you wish to make future funds transfer, select preferred effective date and click on Next.
6. The next screen will list out the details of the transaction you have just performed. As an added security feature, you are required to key in your Maybank2u password, then click on Next.
7. Details of the funds transfer to 3rd party accounts will be listed. Click on Confirm to submit the transaction.
8. The status of your Funds Transfer transaction will be displayed in the final acknowledgement screen. If the immediate/future funds transfer has been processed successfully, the status will be ‘Successful’ and a reference number will be provided. Any status other than ‘Successful’ means that the transaction was rejected.
9. To print the transaction for your own records, just click print.
10. Please note that the maximum amount transferable to 3rd party account(s) is S$5000 per day per customer.

To Payee Accounts with Another Bank in Singapore (Immediate and Future Transfer)

1. The payee account details must be registered before you can perform a funds transfer. Refer to Update Payee Account List for details.
2. Select the account you wish to transfer funds into and click on Next.
3. Select From Account.
4. Key in the Amount.
5. Select Effective Date. The effective date is defaulted to "Today", which means it is an immediate funds transfer. If you wish to make future funds transfer, select your preferred effective date and click on Next.
6. The next screen will list out the details of the transaction you have just performed. As an added security feature, you are required to key in your Maybank2u password, then click on Confirm to submit the transaction.
7. The status of your funds transfer transaction will be displayed in the final acknowledgement screen. If the immediate/future funds transfer has been processed successfully, the status will be "Successful" and a reference number will be provided. Any status other than "Successful" means that the transaction was rejected.
8. To print the transaction for your own records, just click Print.
9. Please note that the maximum amount transferable to 3rd party account(s) is S$5000 per day per customer.

View/ Cancel Funds Transfer Instructions

1. Select Online Banking and click on View/Cancel Funds Transfer Instructions.
2. The next screen will display all the future funds transfer instructions that are still pending
3. To cancel future funds transfer instructions, tick in the respective box and click on Next.
4. The next screen will list out the details of the future funds transfer you wish to cancel. Click Confirm to submit the transaction.
5. The status of your request for cancellation of future funds transfer will be displayed in the final acknowledgement screen. If the cancellation has been processed successfully, the status will be "Successful" and a reference number will be provided. Any status other than "Successful" means that the transaction was rejected.
6. To print the transaction for your own records, just click print.

Update Payee Account List

1. Select Online Banking and click on Update Payee Account List.
2. Choose either Amend Payee Account(s) with Maybank or Add/Remove Payee Account(s) with other Bank.
3. Amend Payee Account(s) with Maybank
a. You can register, amend or delete your favourite 3rd party account details.
b. Key in the payee Maybank account number and preferred name.
c. Click Submit to confirm your request.
4. Add/Remove Payee Account(s) with other Bank
a. To register a new Payee Account:

i

Click on Add.
ii key in the Nickname (maximum 3 characters).
iii Select the Payee Account Bank, and click on Next.
iv. Select the Branch.
v. Key in the Account Number.
vi. Key in the Account Holder Name.
vii. Select your Maybank Account to transfer the funds from.
viii. Click Submit to confirm your request.
b. To delete an existing Payee Account:

i

Tick in the respective box and click on Remove.
ii Click Submit to confirm your request.
5. To print the transaction for your own records, just click print.

D. Credit Cards

1. Select Credit Cards and click on Visa Payment.
2. Select From Account and To Credit Card.
3. Key in the Amount.
4. Select Effective Date. The effective date is defaulted to ' Today', which means it is an immediate payment. If you wish to make future payment, select preferred effective date and click on Next.
5. The next screen will list out the details of your Visa Card Payment. Click Confirm to submit the transaction.
6. The status of your Visa Payment will be displayed in the final acknowledgement screen.
7. To print the transaction for your own records, just click print.

E. Cheque Services 

1. Point the mouse at Online Banking and select Cheque Services
2. Under Cheque Services, you can perform cheque inquiry or stop payment of cheque.

Cheque Status Inquiry

1. Select Status inquiry.
2. Select your Current Account.
3. For single cheque status inquiry, key in the cheque number, then click on Next.
4. The cheque status will be displayed on the screen.
5. For multiple cheque status inquiry, key in the starting cheque number and the number of leaves, then click on Next.
6. The cheques status will be displayed on the screen.

Stop Cheque

1. Select Stop Cheque.
2. Select your Current Account
3. For stop payment on single cheque, key in the cheque number, then click on Next.
4. For stop payment on multiple cheques, key in the starting cheque number and the number of leaves, then click on Next.
5. The next screen will list out the details of the stop payment of cheque(s) you wish to cancel. Click Confirm to submit the transaction.
6. The status of your stop payment transaction will be displayed in the final acknowledgement screen. If the stop payment has been processed successfully, the status will be ‘Successful’ and a reference number will be provided. Any status other than ‘Successful’ means that the transaction was rejected.

F. Bill Payment

Bill Payment

1. Select Bill Payment and click on Bill Payment.
2. Select the Payee Organisation, and click on Next.
3. Select the From Account, key in the Bill Account Number and the Amount.
4. Select Effective Date. The effective date is defaulted to ' Today', which means it is an immediate payment. If you wish to make future payment, select preferred effective date and click on Next.
5. The next screen will list out the details of your Bill Payment. Click Confirm to submit the transaction.
6. The status of your Bill Payment will be displayed in the final acknowledgement screen.
7. To print the transaction for your own records, just click print.
8. Pleased be advised that you should allow 2 workings day for the billing organisation to process your payment.

Inquire/ Cancel Future Payment

1. Select Bill Payment and click on Inquire/Cancel Future Payment.
2. The next screen will display all the future bill payment instructions that are still pending.
3. To cancel future bill payment instructions, tick in the respective box and click on Next.
4. The next screen will list out the details of the future bill payment you wish to cancel. Click Confirm to submit the transaction.
5. The status of your request for cancellation of future bill payment will be displayed in the final acknowledgement screen. If the cancellation has been processed successfully, the status will be ‘Successful’ and a reference number will be provided. Any status other than ‘Successful’ means that the transaction was rejected.
6. To print the transaction for your own records, just click print.

G. Other Services

Report Loss of ATM Card

1. Select Other Services and click on Report Loss of ATM Card.
2. Tick in the respective box of the Kawanku ATM card you wish to cancel, and click on Next.
3. The next screen will list out the details of your Kawanku ATM card you wish to cancel. Click Confirm to submit the transaction.
4. The status of your cancellation of ATM facility will be displayed in the final acknowledgement screen.
5. To print the transaction for your own records, just click print.

H. Utilities

Change Password

1. Select Utilities and click on Change Password.
2. You need to key in your existing password, and the new password you wish to register.
3. Click on OK to submit the transaction.
4. The next screen will display that your new password has been successfully changed.
5. Please note that your password can be alphabets, numbers or a combination of both, and have a length from 8 to 12 characters. It is uppercase/lowercase sensitive, and special characters or spaces are not allowed except underscore.

4. Do I need to have my own PC to use Maybank2u Online Financial Services? 

Maybank2u Online Financial Services can be accessed from any PC (with Internet access and the correct browser software) such as your office, another person's PC or even in a cybercafe. You do not need to use Maybank2u Online Financial Services from a specific PC. However, we would like to advise you to take the necessary security precautions when using other PCs. Please refer to the section on Privacy and Security Information.

5. Are there any charges for using Maybank2u Online Financial Services?

No, you do not need to pay any charges for using Maybank2u Online Financial Services. This is our way of encouraging more customers to enjoy and experience the convenience of Internet Banking.

6. Who can use Maybank2u Online Financial Services?

Everyone who has an individual or joint (with ‘Either’ mandate*) account** with Maybank can apply for Maybank2u Online Financial Services. To know more about opening an account with Maybank, please call 1800-MAYBANK (1800-629-2265).

* Joint account with ‘Both’ or ‘All’ operating condition is not eligible for Maybank2u Online Financial Services. ** Account refers to SGD Current and Savings Account, Share Financing Account, SGD Housing Loan, SGD Term Loan, SGD and Foreign Currency Time Deposit, Maybank Credit Card.

7. Can companies use Maybank2u Online Financial Services?

At the moment Maybank2u Online Financial Services is only offered to individuals but we are enhancing it for other customers.

8. How do I apply for Maybank2u Online Financial Services?

You can apply for Maybank2u Online Financial Services through mail or ATM.

Through Mail

Simply go www.Maybank2u.com.sg and click Online Applications. Select Application for Maybank2u Online Financial Services. Complete the particulars, print and send the Application Form to us at:

Through ATM

If you have an ATM card, you can also apply for Maybank2u Online Financial Services through any of our ATMs. At the main ATM menu, select "E-Access ID Application". 11. Do I need to have my own PC to use Maybank2u Online Financial Services?


Maybank2u Online Financial Services can be accessed from any PC (with Internet access and the correct browser software) such as your office, another person's PC or even in a cybercafe. 12. Do I need to install any special software?

You do not need to install any special software to access Maybank2u Online Financial Services so long as you have a compatible browser such as Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE) 5.0 and Netscape Navigator 4.72 or higher. These are the browsers that Maybank2u Online Financial Services run on.

13. Do I need to upgrade my existing PC to access Maybank2u Online Financial Services?

You can use your existing PC to access Maybank2u Online Financial Services if it meets the minimum system requirements. However, for a better Maybank2u Online Financial Services experience, you may wish to use a PC with the preferred system requirements.

14. Maybank2u Online Financial Services safe and secure? How safe is my account information sent through Maybank2u Online Financial Services?

At Maybank, we are committed to protecting our customers' information by employing the most secured encryption technology (128-bit Secure Sockets Layer or SSL) to safeguard all your information and transactions transmitted over the Internet.

SSL encryption will scramble all data between Maybank and your PC using a security key. Only Maybank has this key to reassemble back the data. Any other party trying to break this key will be faced with 200 trillion possible combinations.

In addition to SSL encryption, we also authenticate your unique Access ID and PIN upon logon. Both are needed together for access to your account information. We have also included a security feature that automatically terminates your Maybank Internet Banking session after a period of inactivity.

15. How can I upgrade my browser to 128-bit SSL encryption?

If you are using Internet Explorer, the minimum requirement is version 5.0 and above.

Internet Explorer:

  • Select "Downloads"
  • Select by clicking "Downloads Centre"
  • Select "Product Name "(Pull down bar)
  • Select Internet Explorer 5.01
  • Select "Operating System"(Pull down bar)
  • Select "Windows 95"
  • Click "Find It"
  • Look for Internet Explorer 5.01 Service Pack 2 then click on it.
  • "Internet Explorer Homepage" appears
  • Click "Go" Icon and select download. Select run this program from its current location and click "O.K".
  • Select "Yes" when prompted by the screen "Do you want to install and run Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.01 and Internet Tools?"
  • Wait for files to be sent to your PC
  • Restart your PC.

If you are using Netscape Communicator, there are two options to upgrade your browser.

Netscape Communicator

Option 1:

  • Type "Navigator" at " GO" column, then click GO.
  • The search result appears .Click "download software and add-ons"
  • The "Download" screen appears.
  • Look for " Complete download of communication 4.73".Click "Windows 95/98 NT"
  • Look for "Complete download of communication 4.73".Click "Windows 95/98 NT"
  • Look for "Step 1" and select a down load location (Pull down bar)
  • Select "Netscape Communication"
  • Look for "Step 2" and click on the word "Download"
  • Wait for the file to tranfer to your PC.
  • Restart the PC
Option 2:

Download a patch from http://www.fortify.net/ to upgrade to 128 bit encryption. Please note that this is a freeware and you are bound by the terms and conditions of this site.

16. How do I prevent others from viewing my confidential transactional information done over Maybank2u Online Financial Services?

You need to clear your cache after each session. The action steps to be performed are as follows:

    Netscape Navigator 4.7x 
    • Click "Edit"
    • Select "Preferences"
    • Click "Advance"
    • Select "Cache"
    • Click both "Clear Memory Cache" and "Clear Disk Cache"
    • Click "OK"

    • Select "Internet Options"
    • Click "General"
    • Select "Temporary Internet Files" and click "Delete Files"

17. What precautions can I take to protect my PIN and Password?

  • Keep your Access ID and PIN confidential. We would advise that you memorise your PIN and avoid keeping any written record.
  • Do not disclose your PIN to anyone, even to someone reporting to be from the Bank. Maybank staff will never require your PIN under any circumstances.
  • When you logon to Maybank2u Online Financial Services for the first time, you will be required to choose your own Username and Password. Do not use easy password such as your ID number, telephone number, etc.
  • Change your password regularly.
  • Always remember to logout from Maybank2u Online Financial Services when you leave your PC. .

18. How do I know if the Internet banking pages are truly from Maybank?

Every time you connect to Maybank2u Online Financial Services, your browser will receive a "digital certificate". This certificate securely identifies the site you are connecting to, and is used to establish the encrypted session.

You can view the contents of the certificate when you are connected to Maybank2u Online Financial Services by double clicking on the image of a lock or key located at the status bar (lowest part of the browser). This certificate has been "digitally signed" by Verisign, the most recognised issuer of digital certificates in the world.

The subject field of the certificate should show the organisation as Malayan Banking Berhad (Maybank). If other organisation name is displayed, you may have connected to an illegitimate site. Do not enter your username or password. You should report to us immediately at 1800-MAYBANK (1800-629-2265).

19. What should I do if I think someone is using my accounts?

You should report to us immediately at 1800-MAYBANK (1800-629 2265) during office hours, and 1800-535 4084 or 1800-535 4142 after office hours.

20. What should I do if I forgot my Username or Password?

You can apply for a replacement Maybank2u PIN either by mail or through any of our Maybank ATMs in Singapore.

To apply for a replacement Maybank2u PIN through mail, simply fill up the Maybank2u Online Financial Services Maintenance Form and mail it to us. We will mail you the E-Access ID and PIN within 5 working days.

To apply for a replacement Maybank2u PIN through any of our Maybank ATMs in Singapore, you will need to have an ATM card. At the main ATM menu, select "E-Access ID Application". You will be advised that you already have an existing E-Access ID. When asked if you wish to reset your PIN, select “Yes” and proceed to choose your new 6-digit Maybank2u PIN.

In both instances, you will need to perform the “First-Time Login” again, using your new E-Access ID and PIN.

Note: As part of Maybank's policy to protect our customer, your Username will be locked out after 3 unsuccessful attempts.

21. Can I change my password?

Yes, you can change your password by using the 'utilities' facility within Maybank2u Online Financial Services.

22. What will happen if I forget to log out or leave my computer idle for a period of time?

For security reasons, there is a session time out where the system will automatically log you out if you leave the computer idle for a period of time.

23. What happens when my computer crashes or I get disconnected from the Internet by accident? How will I know that the payment or the transaction is effected?

The account summary and information displayed are online and up-to-date for all accounts. The only exception is SGD and Foreign Currency Time Deposit Account information, which is as at the previous day

26. Can I transfer funds to another person's accounts?

Yes, you can transfer funds to another person's account maintained with Maybank or other banks in Singapore

27. Is there a way that I do not have to key in the account number of the 3rd party I wish to transfer funds to every time I make a payment?

Yes, you can register the payee name and account details using the Update Payee Account List function under Funds Transfer.

28. What is Update Payee Account List?

Update Payee Account List allows you to register/delete your favourite 3rd party accounts with Maybank or other banks.

Payee Accounts with Maybank
You can register up to ten Maybank accounts that you will be transferring funds into on a regular basis.

Payee Accounts with Another Bank
You can register up to three other bank accounts that you wish to transfer funds into. Once you have successfully registered, you will be able to transfer funds into these accounts through other electronic channels such as ATM, Dial-Link, Mobile Banking (WAP), Cash Deposit Machine and iKiosk.


29. How can I keep a record of my successful transactions?

You can do it by printing the screen:
