How we calculate Zakat and Fidyah

At Maybank, our Zakat and Fidyah calculations are based on MUIS guidelines, with additional features designed to provide a more comprehensive view of your finances and Zakat assessment. The calculator allows you to:

  • Consolidate different asset types such as cash, gold, and investments (including securities), as well as relevant takaful or insurance related values (where applicable).
  • Optionally include immediate liabilities, in line with recognized scholarly views on modern asset based Zakat calculation.

Note: The Fidyah calculator is based on compounding and non-compounding calculation applicable to its category which is an optional basis based on MUIS guidelines. The standardise calculation of non-compounding basis will be made available in future.
