Maybank offers complimentary remittance services for Malaysians in Singapore impacted by the Movement Control Order in Malaysia

- Non-customers may also remit funds to any Malaysian bank account for free during MCO period

Singapore - Standing shoulder to shoulder with the community, Maybank today announced that it is offering complimentary remittance services for Malaysians working and living in Singapore who have been impacted by the Malaysia Movement Control Order (MCO).

All Maybank and non-Maybank Malaysian customers may visit any Maybank branch to remit funds at S$0 transfer fees to any Malaysian bank account at attractive SGD/MYR exchange rates from today till 14 April 2020. This is only applicable to individual-to-individual accounts.

Mr Alvin Lee, Head of Community Financial Services and Group Wealth Management of Maybank Singapore said, "As the leading financial institution in Malaysia, it is important for us to extend a helping hand to support Malaysia nationals in Singapore who are unable to travel home during this MCO period. We are committed to supporting the community and hope that this complimentary remittance initiative provides some relief for them, and their family members will be able to receive the funds they need in a timely manner."

The bank previously introduced relief measures such as Home Loan Repayment Relief to existing customers whose incomes have been affected by the COVID-19 outbreak and complimentary COVID-19 and dengue fever insurance coverage for all individual Maybank customers.
