Card Loss

Your liability for a lost or stolen credit/ debit card prior to notification to Maybank

Credit Card loss


  • Prior to notifying the credit card loss to Maybank, the card liability limit for unauthorised charges for Cardmembers is a maximum of S$100. This is provided that the Cardmember has not acted fraudulently, with gross negligence or has not failed to inform Maybank within a reasonable time after the card loss. Maybank may consider waiving the S$100 liability for unauthorised charges on a case-by-case basis upon investigation. Interest charge and late fees during this period of investigation will not be levied.
  • Cardmembers will not be liable for unauthorised PIN activated transactions as long as he or she was not acting fraudulently or with gross negligence.
  • In the event that Maybank determines that the Cardmember is grossly negligent and declines to make outstanding payments, Maybank reserves the right to terminate the Cardmember credit card services as well as to pursue litigation actions to recover the outstanding payment amount.

Debit Card loss


  • Prior to notifying the debit card loss to Maybank, the card liability limit for unauthorised charges for Cardmembers is a maximum of S$100. This is provided that the Cardmember has not acted fraudulently, with gross negligence or has not failed to inform Maybank within a reasonable time after the card loss. Maybank may consider waiving the S$100 liability for unauthorised charges on a case-by-case basis upon investigation.
  • Cardmembers will not be liable for unauthorised PIN activated transactions as long as he or she was not acting fraudulently or with gross negligence.
  • In the event that Maybank determines that the Cardmember has acted fraudulently or is grossly negligent, Maybank reserves the right to terminate the Cardmember debit card services and refund the remaining balance of the account after applicable charges.
