Structural Shifts in the Post-Pandemic World |
|
The Covid-19 pandemic has accelerated digital adoption and exacerbated income gaps. As we enter the new normal, the regional economist team at Maybank Kim Eng explains why the world will not return to the pre-pandemic normal. There will be permanent shifts in the ways we work, shop and play, such as the online shopping boom, the continuation of work from home trend and the dismal fact that air travel will never be the same again. Read on to discover eight structural shifts in a post-Covid world, which gives investors food for thought. |

Maybank records 3QFY20 net profit of RM1.95b |
Maybank Group announced on 27 November 2020 that its net profit for the third quarter ended 30 September 2020 came in at RM1.95 billion compared with RM2.00 billion in 3QFY19 as it recorded lower net operating income mainly due to the continued impact from the COVID-19 pandemic, although this was partly offset by reduced overhead expenses and a decline in impairments.
