Where can I view my GAA-i balances and transactions?

Why is my total balance shown in SGD when I hold foreign currencies?
Your total balance is displayed in SGD to provide a consolidated view. It includes your SGD balance and the indicative SGD equivalent of your foreign-currency balances.

You may remove a supported foreign-currency balance through the Maybank2u SG app, where available, without closing your overall GAA-i.
To do this, select the currency, go to “Manage” and tap “Remove Currency”. The balance must be zero before a currency can be removed, so the app will offer to convert any remaining balance to SGD.
If you close a foreign-currency balance before the 1st of the month, you will forgo any profit accrued on that balance for the previous month. The Ringgit Account has its own removal treatment.
How do I close my GAA-i?
To close your GAA-i, please contact our Contact Centre or visit any Maybank Singapore branch. Please ensure that all balances, including SGD and foreign-currency balances, are zero before the account closure date.

You may fund a currency conversion using another eligible Maybank SGD savings or current account instead of the SGD balance in your GAA-i, where supported.

The exchange rate is valid for the time shown in the Maybank2u SG app. A countdown timer will be displayed during the conversion journey.
What happens if the exchange rate expires before I confirm?

Can I cancel or reverse a completed currency conversion?
No. A completed conversion cannot be cancelled or reversed. To convert the funds back, you will need to perform a new conversion using the applicable exchange rate at that time. The amount received may differ because of exchange-rate movements.
What is Auto Convert?
Auto Convert helps support eligible transactions when the available balance in the spending currency is insufficient. Where applicable, it may convert the required shortfall from your available SGD balance into the transaction currency.
Auto Convert is enabled by default for all supported foreign currencies and can be turned on or off under “Manage” in the Maybank2u SG app. The setting applies to your whole account and cannot be set for individual currencies.

What can I use the card for?
Subject to card activation, available balance, card settings, transaction limits, merchant acceptance and applicable terms, the card may be used for:
- local and overseas retail purchases where Mastercard is accepted;

Do I need to enable my card for overseas use?
Yes. Before using your card overseas, enable the overseas magnetic stripe and overseas cash withdrawal functions in the Maybank2u SG app.
Which balance is used when I spend in a supported foreign currency?
If you spend in a supported foreign currency and have sufficient balance in that currency, the transaction will be deducted directly from the relevant currency balance.
What happens if I do not have enough balance in the spending currency?
For supported foreign currencies, Auto Convert may convert the required shortfall from your SGD balance, subject to sufficient available SGD balance, the applicable exchange rate, transaction limits and card rules.
If Auto Convert is turned off, the SGD balance is insufficient or another restriction applies, the transaction may be declined.
What happens if I spend in an unsupported currency?
The transaction will be deducted from your SGD balance and converted using the applicable Mastercard exchange rate and card transaction rules. A foreign-exchange fee of 3.25% applies.
Will a foreign-exchange fee apply when I spend in a supported foreign currency?
A foreign-exchange fee does not apply when the transaction is made in a supported foreign currency, whether Auto Convert is on or off. Other fees or merchant-imposed charges may still apply depending on the transaction.
What is Dynamic Currency Conversion?
Dynamic Currency Conversion, or DCC, occurs when an overseas merchant or ATM offers to charge the transaction in SGD instead of the local currency.
If a transaction at a foreign merchant is charged in SGD, a DCC fee of 1% applies.
The merchant or payment provider may use its own exchange rate or impose charges. Review the currency, amount, exchange rate and any fee shown before confirming the transaction.
Should I pay in SGD or the local currency when I am overseas?
Review the displayed currency and total amount carefully. If you select the local currency and it is a supported foreign currency, the relevant currency balance may be used. If you select SGD at a foreign merchant, the transaction is treated as a DCC transaction and a 1% DCC fee applies.
Can I use the card for NETS and local ATM withdrawals?
You may use the card for NETS transactions where NETS is accepted and supported. Your card PIN is required for NETS transactions.
You may also use the card at Maybank ATMs in Singapore and atm5 ATMs for SGD withdrawals, subject to ATM availability, available balance, withdrawal limits and applicable terms.
Which balance is deducted for an overseas ATM withdrawal?
For overseas ATM cash withdrawals in a supported foreign currency (except Malaysian Ringgit), the withdrawal amount will be deducted directly from the corresponding currency balance.
For overseas ATM cash withdrawals in Malaysian Ringgit or any unsupported currency, the withdrawal amount will be deducted from your SGD balance and converted at the prevailing foreign exchange rate.
Withdrawals at Maybank ATMs outside Singapore (excluding the Philippines) are deducted from your SGD balance, regardless of the currency withdrawn.
What fees apply to overseas ATM withdrawals?
Overseas ATM cash withdrawals are free at Maybank ATMs outside Singapore (excluding the Philippines). For withdrawals made at all other overseas ATMs, a S$5 fee per withdrawal will be charged by the Cirrus network.
The ATM operator may impose a separate fee. Any operator fee is set by the ATM operator and may be shown before you confirm the withdrawal.
What is a pending debit-card transaction?
A pending transaction has been authorised but has not yet been fully posted to your account. Once it is posted, the pending entry will be replaced by the final transaction in your GAA-i transaction history.
The final amount may differ because of exchange-rate movements, merchant processing, card-scheme rules, fees or settlement adjustments.
Why was my card transaction declined even though I have funds?
A transaction may be declined because of insufficient balance, insufficient SGD for Auto Convert or unsupported-currency conversion, Auto Convert being turned off, card limits, card settings, merchant or ATM acceptance, an unsupported transaction type, or the card not being activated or being blocked.
Can I use the card for hotel deposits or merchant pre-authorisations?
You may use the card where the merchant accepts debit cards. The merchant may place a temporary hold on your available balance until the transaction is completed, cancelled or released.
What happens if I receive a refund from an overseas merchant?
The refund will be processed according to the merchant’s instructions, card-network rules and the applicable currency-handling process. The refunded amount may differ from the original amount because of exchange-rate differences, timing or merchant processing.
Will I earn cashback or reward points for spending on the card?
Spending and cash withdrawals made using the Maybank Global Access Mastercard Debit Card are not eligible for cashback, reward points or base points.
How do I change my card PIN?
You can change your PIN at a Maybank ATM. If you have forgotten your PIN, please contact Maybank’s customer service hotline.
How do I set my card spending limit?

Is Auto Convert available for Ringgit?

What happens if I do not have enough Ringgit balance?

If Auto Convert is not enabled and your Ringgit balance is insufficient, the transaction cannot be processed and will be declined.
Can I use the Ringgit Account for spending in Malaysia?
Yes. You may use the linked Maybank Global Access Mastercard Debit Card for eligible retail purchases at merchant point-of-sale terminals and online payments in Ringgit, subject to merchant acceptance, sufficient Ringgit balance, card limits and applicable terms.
Should I pay in Ringgit or SGD at a Malaysian merchant?
Review the currency, exchange rate and total amount shown before confirming the payment. A transaction charged in Ringgit may use your available Ringgit balance. If the merchant charges you in SGD, your Ringgit balance will not be used and a 1% DCC fee applies.
Can I withdraw Ringgit cash from an ATM in Malaysia?

How are Ringgit refunds and merchant holds handled?
A refund may be credited in Ringgit if the original transaction was processed in Ringgit, subject to the merchant’s instructions, card-network rules and Maybank’s processing rules.
Hotel deposits and merchant pre-authorisations may temporarily reduce your available Ringgit balance until the merchant releases the hold.
What happens if I am no longer eligible to hold the Ringgit Account?
Maybank will notify you if your Ringgit eligibility ceases. Further Ringgit top-ups will not be allowed, and you will have 30 days to use the remaining Ringgit balance for supported transactions or convert it to SGD.
At the end of the 30-day period, any remaining Ringgit balance will be converted to SGD using the applicable Maybank exchange rate at that time, and the Ringgit Account will then be closed.
