What is Secure2u?


Secure2u is your digital token on Maybank2u SG app which saves you the hassle of carrying a physical token and waiting for SMS OTP.  It authenticates your Mobile & Online banking transactions in a secured and convenient way, anytime anywhere!

No more SMS OTP: For transactions on Maybank2u SG app, Secure2u will authenticates the transactions seamlessly in the background and you can proceed with the transactions.

No more transaction signing via physical token: For high risk transactions performed on Maybank2u Online Banking, you will be required to key in your Internet Banking password as an additional layer of security.

Security Tips when using Secure2u Digital Token


  • Do not approve transactions not initiated by you.
  • Always pay attention to SMS and Email notification for suspicious S2U registrations not initiated by you.
  • Call us immediately at 1800-MAYBANK (1800-629 2265) if you notice any unauthorized transactions.
  • Always set a lock screen and fingerprints/ Face ID on your mobile device to prevent unauthorized use.

 

Note:
To receive approval push notification on your registered device, ensure that your push notification is enabled on Maybank2u SG app. To enable, go to Settings > Push Notification > Toggle to enable

Secure2u Digital Token can now be used to authorise login and selected transactions performed on the new Maybank2u Online Banking platform. There are other transactions on the classic Maybank2u Online Banking which will still required SMS or Physical Security Token OTP.

3 ways to register for Secure2u on Maybank2u SG app!


Secure2u can be registered on your Maybank2u SG app and can only be enabled on one mobile device. To register for Secure2u, please ensure you have a mobile number registered with the bank and your Maybank2u SG app is updated to version 5.0 for both Android and iOS.

For Maybank Online Banking, the physical security token will be required until further notice.

Now that’s one more reason to download and register for Secure2u on Maybank2u SG app!

 

How to approve transactions with Secure2u on Maybank2u SG app


For medium risk transactions such as local transfer of amount more than S$1,000, Secure2u will authenticate the transaction in the background after you have confirmed the transactions.


Step 1:
Input your transaction details and review transaction, tap Confirm to submit transaction.


Step 2:
You will see a loading icon while waiting for S2U to authenticate the transaction in the background.


Step 3:
Authentication is completed and transaction is successful.

 

For higher risk transactions such as adding payee, increasing transaction limit, local & overseas transfer of amount more than S$20,000, you will be required to enter your Online Banking password to proceed with Secure2u authentication.


Step 1:
Inputs details of payee and review transaction, tap “Confirm” to submit transaction


Step 2:
Enter your IB password to proceed with Secure2u authentication.


Step 3:
Authentication is completed and transaction is successful.

How to approve transactions with Secure2u on Maybank2u Online Banking


How to authenticate login to Maybank2u Online Banking using username and password

After entering your Online Banking username and password, you will be prompted to request for Secure Verification in order to proceed with other functions such as Pay & Transfer.

 

Method 1: Tap on the Push Notification received

Tap on the push notification sent to your mobile phone.

Tap APPROVE to approve the login.

Login is successfully approved. You may return to Maybank2u Online banking.

 

Method 2: Launch Maybank2u SG app

Launch Maybank2u SG app and tap on SECURE2U from the bottom option.

Tap APPROVE to approve the login.

Login is successfully approved. You may return to Maybank2u Online banking.

 


How to authenticate login to Maybank2u Online Banking using QR code login

Click on the QR code icon on Login screen.

Scan the QR code.

Launch Maybank2u SG and tap on SCAN from the bottom option.

Tap Scan QR and Log in to open scanner.

Direct scanner to QR code to scan.

Tap APPROVE to approve Login.

You will need to authenticate via biometrics or password (if not registered for quick touch).

Login is successfully approved. You may return to Maybank2u Online banking.

 

For medium risk transactions such as local transfer of amount more than S$1,000 and overseas transfer, you will be required to request for Secure Verification in order to proceed.

Useful Information


  • How can I register for Secure2u if my physical security token is damaged/out of battery/out of sync?

    You can register using the OTP that will be sent to your registered email address.

    Secure2u Invite page > Select Register > Select Email/SMS OTP and follow on-screen instructions.

    Alternatively, you can visit the branches to get it replace.

  • How do I authenticate my mobile banking transactions?

    For mobile banking transactions, authentication is done securely and seamlessly in the background when you log in with your Mobile Banking username and password. For transactions requiring transaction signing, you will need to enter your online banking password for authentication.

  • How do I authorise a transaction made on Maybank2u Online Banking using Secure2u?

    After selecting Secure Verification as your authenticating mode, please follow below steps:

    Step 1: Reach out to your Secure2u-enabled mobile device and check for a push notification sent for approval. Tap on the notification.
    Step 2: Verify that the transaction details shown on the approval page is correct. Tap APPROVE to proceed.
    Step 3: Approval complete! Check back to Maybank2u Online Banking for the status of the transaction
